prop + food styling: hand pies 2 ways
We’re nearing the finale of the collaborative food work that I’ve been featuring in conjunction with Cybelle Codish of Shoot Happens and Elizabeth Prewitt of One Hundred Eggs. Next week I’ll showcase a beautiful tomato feature and then we’ll take a break until fall when we’ll come back with more!
We had such fun with this one (I mean what could be better than hand pies, buttery crust and warm, savory fillings?) Here we focused on natural shapes, each trying our hand at filling and folding so that the pieces weren’t uniform, rather indicative of our own personal touch. The sweet (mixed berry pies with strawberries and blackberries) and savory (chicken and chorizo pies) versions were fresh out the oven; making for a light, crispy, decadent, delicious and utterly fulfilling treat.

**Also, I highly recommend making smaller pies as an apps course or for a light dessert with coffee.

i am sooo intrigued by food styling… i really want to become a food photographer, really!! man, im soo hungry right now and this is making me go want to make a pie right about now!!
beautiful and yummy! it’s so difficult to make food {even the super delicious} look good. props to the foodie photographs! : )
You have an absolutely lovely blog. So easy on the eyes and enjoyable to read. I like the idea of making small portions of pie/etc for dessert when having a dinner party. Neater and easier to present with pizzazz!
beautiful!!
Oh my goodness, this is all beautiful. It’s so delicious looking–gorgeous! The third image down made me catch my breath. <3
