collection envy

04.13.2010 · Posted in Key to My Heart

I’ve always wanted to be a collector. I’ve dreamed of having a bevvy of beautiful plates, clocks, salt + pepper shakers, vases and, even in a weak moment, turtle figurines. In fact, I especially like these (vintage Pyrex, cocktail napkins + costume jewelry) via Country Home magazine. They seem to me like excerpts from the Chic Woman’s Guide to Collecting and give me hope that someday, instead of staring at friends + colleague’s collections in wonder (and envy), I might attempt my own unique hoard.

  1. I love the pyrex bowls.

I have the chicken ones on top. Passed down from my mom. I think it was maybe one of her wedding gifts.

Now I want all the other styles! Especially the green polka dotted one!

  2. I wish that I could collect things that look so beautiful together! I have “collections” but their beauty is debatable:)

  3. I’m the same way! I always wanted to collect something but always had too many interests to decide on one thing. Ugh, these are really cool. I need to know, do you design your borders on these pictures? They’re so cute!

  4. Thanks Aubrey :) ! My friend collects salt and pepper shakers and I’ve always been envious. RE: the frames, my designers set up various choices for me to use when I post these style boards. They’re fab, I agree!

  5. Maybe old antique markets? If you find any, let me know!
